Getting started in IDPA
Getting started in IDPA is easy, you may already have most of the equipment you need! To shoot at an IDPA match you will need:
- Eye and ear protection
- A pistol or revolver
- Most factory pistols or revolvers will work, Glock, Springfield, SIG, S&W, 1911's, etc.
- Pistols designed specifically for competition are not approved for IDPA
- A holster
- Strong-side holsters worn on the hip only
- Holster must cover the trigger guard of the firearm
- Three magazines or speedloaders
- A magazine pouch or speed loader pouch
- A concealment garment
- Must cover the firearm when holstered and any magazine or speedloader pouches
- A shooter's vest, or an unbuttoned shirt will usually do.
- Ammunition
- For 6-8 stages you will typically need 150-200 rounds
- $15 Match fee - exact change is preferred but not required
- If you are shooting for the first time please remeber to arrive in time to attend the required safety meeting at 7:30
